Heat lamp power use

Recommended Posts

Last night from midnight till 8 am I turned everything off in our house including the fridge freezer, and the freezer outside, the only thing on was a landing light for the kids, with an energy saving bulb in,,and of course the heat lamp in the kennel.

The lamp in the kennel is a pro lamp with a 100 wat ceramic dull immiter ,,, in that 8 hour period I used 13 p of electric,,, so times 3 it would be 39 p for the day..

Just for any lads that might be interested,,,, or at least the ones that arnt to tight.......:)

I think it depends on the bulb,,, remember the one I'm using right now is 100 wat,,, if there using a 250 like i was then there's going to be a big difference, and remember 40 p is 280 a week, you could proberbly double that at least on a bigger bulb,, making at around 6 pound a week ,,, times that by 12 is 72 pound on top of your regular bill

what ever the price its cold out there, the water bowls were frozen feckin solid this morning, give them the the best food, good warm kennel, and you get the best out of them. Put my heat lamps on (red bulb) 10 pm to 10am, plus they are in 1 kennel it all helps, even though Bucks drving Bryn nuts
