baldockbanks courser 598
You may have seen the country file raid on t.v. This was linked to a badger digging case in Cambridge in which all defendants were Found not guilty. Clive Rees was defending so was paid by the prosecution a large sum indeed after the case. The r.s.p.c.a have taken there own prosecution on after raiding houses and finding images of dogs and quarie together, but none of any person in the images so there case is really not strong. I've only known this lad a year but in that time and going through a stressful court case together I can tell anyone this is a genuine man who lives for his animals. The r.s.p.c.a have stolen (I use that word because that what it is) his dogs in march. The r.s.p.c.a are using this a test case to try to prosecute a man just for having images of illegal hunting. Clive Rees has just today told him that due to the large amount of paper work the r.s.c.a have used (most of it rubbish) his bill is now £10,000 at least even though he thinks there's a fair chance of a not guilty. How can a working class lad pay this? Why should the giants who are the r.s.p.c.a just fetch cases knowing they will price the defendant out of a good defence and a fair trial! I also think Clive could do better having already done very well financially out of the first case and being a hunting man himself. Are there any hunting people in the legal world who would help him and show the r.s.p.c.a we can stand together and won't be bullied out of our sport. Please contact me if you can help. Thank you B. as much as i would stand by my belief and would help most men out for good reason.....................keeping photos of that kind says alot about the person and frankley i wont help people who dont help there selfs............good luck in finding help....... You run rabbits with whippets I guess so your alright jack! Because a person has an intrest in now historical field sports that are now unfairly i.m.o outlawed they must be a monster? So i guess if rabbitings banned youll have a big bonfire in your garden with all your pictures of rabbit catches will you??? I won't find help on here by the looks of it but I've high lighted what the r.s.p.c.a are all about and at least tried. 1 Quote Link to post

I think what he is trying to say here mate is that those that you would be expected to pay into a fund for example are the ones least likely to need the support themselves. Without you going into details of this specific case and what the stuff was in the pictures he was caught with, its hard to know about the lad who has been caught and its difficult for people to make a judgement as to whether he deserves it or not. For example, If some fund or something was set up that 'we' as a hunting community paid into to cover any legal costs that 'we' may incur. I (as someone who is relatively sensible, works full time and is careful not to do anything that could incriminate myself) would resent that fund being used to bail out some nugget that has been out killing cats on an estate, or driving all over fields with no permission lamping pigs and taking pictures of the whole thing. This would also most likely have the effect of making the retards even more bold in what they do knowing that they are covered if they do get caught Not saying this is the case here but its just an example, Based on the photos not containing his face i cant see how it wouldnt be thrown out of court, providing the photos are old ones it should be fairly easy for this to be proved. 2 Quote Link to post

events co-ordinator 353
We have all known what the SSpca/Rspca are about it will cost YOU a minimum of £150 an HOUR for a specialist lawyer forevery hour he researches old cases /interviews witness's etc. Then there is the question of Expert witness's fees and expenses one of the SACS pool of expert witnesss's is involved in N.I. at the moment and my old man ws advising on some parts of the case. Example one appeal against shotgun cert revocation in Glasgow sherriff court cost in excess of £42,000 the sacs team got costs awarded costs against the police BUT it still cost the appellant £7,000. This was not done through SACS but it was the case that caused my old man to recomend this team to SACS and also the SGA. Expert witnesses can cost £1,000 per day plus expenses depending on their qualifications. ALL members of the Scottish Working Terrier Club are SACS members Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,779
It's a pity the Writ of Habeus Corpus doesn't cover dogs !!!! How the hell are a "charity" allowed to take peoples property, (their dogs), and keep them for months ?? There used to be a saying in this country; "innocent 'till proven guiltty ", but in these cases the opposite seems to be true, they take and keep your dogs, and assume you are guilty, until you proove yourself innocent !! In this lads case, he seems to have a good chance, as he was found not guilty in a criminal court, although the burden of proof is less in a civil court. Cheers. 2 Quote Link to post

Not lucky mate, getting the dog back is what he deserved. They were in the wrong for taking it in the first place There would have been a way to make heads roll mate, with or without solicitors Quote Link to post

BIG G wheton machine 1,594
They took 4/5 dogs they were all in pens with metal dividers.... 1 of the charges was that 1 dog had fleas he failed to treat!!! Only the 1 the rest didn't have fleas. Unbelievable. He tried to get he's vet to examine the dogs as soon as they were taken and the r.s.p.c.a said they won't be nescery 3 times and refused. When he finally saw the dogs months later he was shocked by there condition, when he asked why they was like a bag of bones they simply put it down to the stress of being kennelled. They do what they like!!!! are you serious??/ taking a og with fleas and prosocuting for lack of treatment then wtf are they against the badger cull for when they are spreading disease like a bushfire in the summer. oh aye they have double standards Quote Link to post
