The first defendant sporting his f**k the ban T shirt is baldrick. On his computer once we got through the endless streams of gay porn, we found several thousand photos of a helicopter approaching. We also found several posts relating to police officers and of him bragging about his exploits. He had very little photos of said exploits but several thousands of him posing infront of a mirror.... events co-ordinator 353
Clive Reese cannot practice law in Scotland you need a Scottish lawyer for that Quote Link to post
whippet 99 2,613
Clive Reese cannot practice law in Scotland you need a Scottish lawyer for that that is ridictulous , yes there different laws but for god sake it cant be rocket science if the law is written down in front of him.......................... so basically he isnt a hunting related barrister as no matter what the situation was and where it was he cant be hired......... i thought a barrister was an all rounder on a certain subject and would be there as a hunting related specialist. 1 Quote Link to post
events co-ordinator 353
He is not allowed to represent anyone in a court he has not qualified to speak in i.e. Scottish courts our Scottish lawyers have expert witness's to speak on behalf of their clients one of whom is a Q.C. in England he is also a vet and a working dog man and a badger expert. If you brought Clive to Scotland he would have to Instruct a Scottish lawyer to act on his behalf so you would then be paying for TWO lawyers. Scotland and England have Two separate legal systems. 1 Quote Link to post

I was very supprised to read this, so have looked, very briefly into it, and as far as I can see, any lawyer qualified in UK law can practise in Scotland. There appears to be many London based Lawyers relocating to Scotland as the costs of living, keeping chambers, etc in London is far higher than in Glasgow or Edinbourgh. So, as I read it; an English Lawyer, practising in England CAN represent a client in Scotland, as long as he is qualified in UK Law ! I could be wrong, as the Law is very different in many ways, between England and Scotland, but as I understand it, Mr. Rees could represent a Scottish client. Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post

Cheers When i was arresed in scotland i had to wait 5 hours for a lawyer to come from durham as scottish solicitors are only qualified in scotish law and english lawyers in english law. Military personnel are under english law so an english law qualified lawyer had to be called. Cant argue with Sacs cover. 30 quid a year and got somebody to call who WANTS to help you.
