Wild-Bill 500
Shame that, how tts did they make? Suppose if they had right minerals and where big they could have been used as a draw dog. Cheers Quote Link to post
fat man 4,741
Had a very good dog,3quarter lakey quarter wheaten. He was hard as nails but a great dog to dig to and never once failed us,would scream when on his way up to his game then bang all would go silent, only the sound of bumping as he made contact and thats where you dug.I had to put him to sleep last season aged about 9 as he was gone both deaf and almost blind but had got out on my daughter while she was giving him fresh water and was in an undigable shore for almost 3 days before finially coming away,to say he was a mess is an understatement so the right thing had to be done.Myself and the lads still speak of him, some lads of thl dug over him a few times, hell of a dog. tinytiger 840
id say theres wheaten or glen of imaal way back in the breeding of all the northren working terrier-the reason i say it is ,a friend of mine had an accidental litter from a glen and a wheaten about 9 0r 10 years back-1 was identical to a working lakeland or coarse irish terrier type.I bred my old bull/plummer bitch to the same glen and one also came like a lakeland.Id say it coulds be a very useful cross though maybe a bit hard 1 Quote Link to post

Mustard, how would it be a betterx, the glens were never tested like the wheatens, not saying that the glen is a bad dog but no comparision to a working wheaten. Quote Link to post

They might not have the size of a wheaten but the men I know that kept them in the past tested them as hard as any wheaten as a breed in general they might not have been but the right glen is every bit as game Quote Link to post

Mustard. 83
Well fat man, hows things. Im not saying that a glen would be better but they would have a better structure for a first x? If you could get the gamenes of a wheaten in a glenn,it would be my answer to a good terrier.
