just had five break ins this week at my mother's street, by pure scumbags. and got to thinking about fixing barbed or razor wire to the fence at the back of the house, as there is a laneway to the backs of the houses and the cops say thats were they are coming from. thankfully my mother's house has not been of interest to themm but its only a matter of time. so my question is razor wire better than barbed? and can i legally put this up in the uk? to be honest it'll go up anyway.

carpet grippers on the top edge of the fence(spikes downwards) and broken glass on the ground mate acidents happen and all that, theres all sort of hastle with razor wire

I would use them prickley strips ( anti climb) you can get and attach it to the side of the fence

Trouble with any sort of wire is all a diddy has to do is chuc an old bit of carpet over it and climb/role over. Cameras (visable and hidden), yard lighting, gravel, alarms, decent fencing and good locks are all part of the deterent!

oh the joys to the build up to xmas.even scumbags do that wee bit extra,this time of year. can you buy razor wire?i remember somewhere that it was only for institutions like prisons or refineries and such like.there a f*****g electric fence round the petrol storage tanks in the bp refinery near me.

aye i think chid 21 is bang on there, just done a bit of research and it states about "duty of care" i'll definitely be making it very hard for them b*****ds, cant beleave the law at times, f*****g joke. thanks lads

the thing is with those spikes and glass you only have to throw a blanket over the top of them and then they are usless, id go for barbed wire, watch the neighboring walls aswell. mabey fit some deadlocks on the interior doors, buy some window contators aswell, they make a horrible noise when you open them up. if youve got the cash get some cctv fitted

i remember my next door neighbour got robbed on xmas morn, what type of f*****g low life's get up on xmas morn to rob. yeah ebay does razor wire haha
