I know off a dog that had never looked at stock at all in his life. He had ran rabbits, hare, fox and deer thru' sheep and never batted an eylid; then one day when he was around 7 or 8, he was out wit

I'd leave it be a couple of days so he has got that last little episode out of his mind, then take him again, you may find that he has reverted back to his old self, i reckon if you take him straight

Funny you mention your sister. The only reason I can come up with regarding a dog of mine doing it was it wasn't getting worked hard enough. It was a young dog, wasn't my main dog but I was going thro

Funny you mention your sister. The only reason I can come up with regarding a dog of mine doing it was it wasn't getting worked hard enough. It was a young dog, wasn't my main dog but I was going through a bad spell with the x at the time. If I'd kept up its level of work, I don't think it would have happened. Lack of work causes frustration and desperation. This dog was 100% stock broken, I was surrounded by sheep, dogs could see them 24/7. So if anyone's to blame, I blame the x

I used to have a flock of pedigree Texel Sheep, I remember our Border Collie Bitch got stuck in a pen with one of our Ewes knocking the shit out of it, had to rescue it, so I personally would not put a dog in a pen with Sheep.

I just put a long rope on the dog and walk through a flock of sheep, which should start to run, If the dog tries to chase, pull in the rope with a firm no.

trained all my dogs this way, and it doesn't take them long to get the message.

My present Whippet took three times, and she was sorted.
