Coypu Hunter 486
Finally caught up with a rather elusive coypu that's been hanging around our lake for a few days. You'll see why it's never a good idea to corner one, after it tries to get at me through the cage! Quite a few people and dogs have been bitten by coypus in France when wandering close to ditches and streams -- a cornered coypu tends to attack. This one won't be attacking anyone again. That's a little 'un -- take a look at Coypu Caper #1 for a 5kg one, about 18 months old. Still waiting for an adult to drop by -- they reach 9kg/20lbs! At range, I use my .22 LR. In the trap, I use my Weihrauch HW97K, since the banks of the lake are made of soil on top of granite -- so too much risk of a ricochet with the .22. I use the cheap n nasty Chinese pistol to finish 'em off if they're still twitching -- they have a nasty bite, so I like to make sure before I bag 'em and tag 'em. Quote Link to post
