Hav'nt had the jills out this season no bunnies on one of my permissions and the other is flooded out ,so got knocking on doors BINGO farmer says plenty to go for on his land after looking over some of the hot spot he pointed out, I Cleared some of the set entrances of brambles etc. a week ago and went back today to net up but the terrier only marked two little sets anyway owts better than nowt .Netted up both and put the little jill to work canny wait but a doe hit the net and I grab it and dispatch it net up the hole again and as I wait I take a look at the one we got it's had a real fight with the jill by the look of it .She's been down a long time now and no sound of any movement so out with the finder it's not moving get the ex army trencher out and start digging break into tunnel at about 11/2 feet no signs, finder says still there so dig deeper another foot or so prod into the next chamber ferrets nose appears (pleased about that) had such a job to pull the rabbit out of the stop end but when I did I could see it had been putting up a fight also this one was a big buck. Checked over the ferret for any injuries she was o.k so I .boxed her up and got the other jill out and entered her into the other set two seconds later out pops another bunny and the last one of the day Thinking might be getting to old for digging but got to admit that I still enjoy ferreting and netting the rabbits :victory: but most of my pals only want to come if I am using the ferrets to bolt the rabbits to the gun :cray: a well it's their lose :tongue2: . :bye:
