Looking to build kennels and want some advice on how to do the roof I'm going to use sheets but how do I fix them and also want a door on the kennel that my Lurcher can go in and out of in to the run any suggestions ?

i just used plywood on top of joists then felted it works a treat. Is it a hut your putting them in?

are u doing concrete sheds and then the runs on the front of them ?

Ye there will 2 4x4 sheds 1 will be kennel 1 shed for junk lol and then will have a galvanised panel from end shed to existing house wall

The rest of the yard will be the run then which is about 12x8

I would either put a felt roof on like said or put a real slate roof on cheap as if you do it urself. As there breeze block I wud insulate it as concrete 1 dont keep no heat in, winter be like a chiller box even with a heat lamp. Cheap to do again can get whole role of insulation stuff for £20 be enough to do them and help keep em warmer

Just started a new set up mate, will be all insulated and ply lined on inside with 2 separate raised boxes each for dogs with 2 separate runs coming out the front, cheers

hilti a 4x2 round the top of the block work then frame & sheet with ply grp the roof no leaky joints will last a long time . if you sheet the inside first drop insulation in the cavity then sheet the roof save you a lot of hassle lol remember tie down strap your roof to the block work. you could strap the inside walls insulate and sheet over to retain more heat. block is porous so you need to render the outside ,
