Barrel threading notts derbys

Hi, need a .223 s/s barrel doing.

 

Used a guy, ex rolls royce, that lives in derby previopusly.

Problem is this was 4 years ago and he was in his eighties then I think, for obvious reasons I don't want to phone.

 

Anyone know if he's still going?, or have another contact?

Howdy mate,I have always used a guy called mick, he is a gunsmith, he works above joe nevilles gunshop in Alfreton,01773834062 prob not the cheapest around, but his work is excellent,I have had two rifles screwcut by him and both were very high quality work.

:thumbs: :yes: :yes: Thanks you 2, just called in their to see him, someone had told me they used a guy from Somercotes, didn't realise that he "lived" over the shop.

 

Yes he is relatively expensive, £75 as oposed to the £30 I paid 4 years ago.

 

If there are anymore options before I take the barrel to him I'd appreciate them

 

Oh, while I'm on, I do recall that the barrel has to be/should be re proofed before selling on. Can someone give me the full sp on this?
