hi im just wundering if eny one on here uses treadmill for keeping the lurchers fit. i walk my dog everyday with out fail so would i benifit from using one with my lurchers? atb fm

im working 10 to 12 hour shifts six day a week so some nights the dogs just get let of for a run in the back field so i just think it would be a good idea for my surcamstance. atb fm

mine get a min of 4 hours a day free running. then i'l take them round on lure ever few days but i can't even do that with this ground!

Tryed one for a while. Didnt really do much for me i found it easyer too bike my 2 than put them on the treadmill..... But iam sure they have there place

I want one as when I'm at work the misses could put the dogs to work whilest doing the hoovering/washing up/sorting my dinner etc lol

ive got a double walker and i find once the dogs get use to it they love it ,and it very handy when your doing something as i just put them on it and get on with what im doing

they afre hard work to get the dog used to it, As already said easyer to bike them!

 

I am also fat so its better for me!

and what if something were to go wrong i.e dog traps a foot, do they stop automatically

I walk mine as well as put them on the treadmill its a real handy bit ok kit and will defo help to get ya dogs fitter . They are good when you carnt get the dogs out for some reason ya can keep on top of there fitnes

yea its gotta be use as part of your training, because it wont work the sides of dogs like agood mooch around does

î just set the speed and give them 20 min at troting pace then up it 2 min from the end

No i didnt mean that treadmill took over there excsie , But found if i only bike say 15 mins future than id do both dog the same without having too go back and putting them on the mill (And no matter what anyone says you have too be there over the mill while working the dogs) So didnt help me with mine grab a bike do 20 mins and you'll do more in that time than you will standing over th mill for an hour a dog..

 

 

But i know they have there place some of the best contioned dogs in the world were part trained on mills, But too me they were a let down and toonk alot longer than a bike
