weasle 1,119
There good it dosnt replace excersise but it is another form of excersise. They take a bit of getting used to for older dogs. Mine do a hour at 6 -7kph up hill or down.It gos up to about 20 kph.And yes you can have it so it cuts out should the dog fall behind. Often put mine on after a mornings ferreting. When the dog spends most the time standing looking in a hedge. Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
and what if something were to go wrong i.e dog traps a foot, do they stop automatically If it a proper greyhound type tread mill the pooch can't get it's foot stuck..and if the dog fall's over or goes the wrong way they shoot out the trap door on the back. lifelong cumbrian 1,826
I made one years ago for my father when he raced whippets, got them in great condition and they enjoyed going on it. I remember Henry Dobie (Indian Joe) made one for his dogs and i went to Henrys to see how he had made it. He said he used it a lot with his Whippets and his results spoke for themselves, still need a bit of road work though and free running. I machine would be great like 2 years ago when everything was frozen up for weeks. Quote Link to post
