Brewman 1,192
Apologies for that, it only dawned on me later. I have no experience of lurchers but would like to get one next year. It would be mainly for bunnies and the odd hare, some of the ground would be a bit rough and hilly. I live in the country and have dogs but not used for hunting. Previous to posting on the hunting life I came across the Hancock midgets and have read a couple of threads on them. Cheers Brewman Quote Link to post

Mixed Bag 603
my advice to anyone thinking about hancock is...................dont! find someone who works good dogs see them do their stuff ask for a pup when they get bred if the owners decent they will give you one for free your halfway there you will have a pup off proven parents for 0 quid. its not an instant answer if your wantng a dog yesterday but then the good things in life are worth waiting for 1 Quote Link to post

Mixed Bag 603
why does it have to be a collie x theres other lurcher types that can do everything a collie x does and more plenty of folk out there with good old fashioned lurcher x lurcher bitsas whatever you want to call them just bred from good dogs over lots of generations will catch bolted rabbits work the lamp off the slip biddable stop a hare in winter if it wasnt banned and so on people get hung up on collie x being intelligent and trainable but they arent the only dog that can boast that Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Yup but the whole thing was about getting a collie x mate ATB Quote Link to post

Maybe go for a colliex to lurcher type dog , so you get about 1/4 collie back to lurcher, that would be spot on,and better on hares, with that bit more speed . ive got a 1x colliexgrey Bryn who is fast for this x, so you can get them , but you not seen many about.! but still (would'nt) go to Hancock, as them dogs never seen a rabbit.!! Bryn home bred dog from of here, fast for a 1x Quote Link to post
