Simoman 110
starlings,,,ahhh..i love em... the fastest declining bird in britain... so be thankfull you have em.. because like most things, well you know the rest... Exactly, stunning birds, watching the flock in the thousands must be one of natures most beautiful sights.......... Stunning to watch the flocks, but the b*****ds are eating £22,000 worth of feed a week down the massive free range poultry farm down the road from me! Absolutely no shortage or decline in numbers of them in this part of the world, as I've been saying for years when the 'how can you hate them, they're lovely and rare' comments come up when I let my feelings be known about them on here! They've got a licence to cull 10% of the numbers there now, 3 lads walking round with rockets and one lad with a hawk. Mal, do you own the poultry farm? Then stop moaning

Malt 379
what do you mean by rockets, is it welsh slang? £22,000 a week! and im whingeing about about £1.50's worth !! Rockets as in firework type things - fizz, whoosh, bang!! Mal, do you own the poultry farm? Then stop moaning No, but like the OP I like feeding the birds but when ever I put anything out it ends up as a 'putting some food out for the starlings' exercise that lasts about 5 minutes! It's nothing to see 20 or so on the feeder or on the ground round it hoovering everything up with another few hundred or so perched on the lines waiting for an opportunity to join in while making a fecking huge racket! Starlings = not for me, thanks!
