BEARINATOR 2,869
What's the difference?? Neither bother me by the way, just an observation lol The difference is they have more open land for longer runs , but I get your point Quote Link to post
stewie 3,387
Lol yeah i no that bear!! I'd never knock anyone elses type of hunting but let's be honest chasing an animal in a truck and then slipping three fit and healthy dogs on it is never gonna be the most sporting method lol effective and gets results tho which is what it's all about. The only difference between Fred's helicopter video and stunts truck cam is legality and shows why lurcherwork is all but dead in this f*****g joke of a country!! Quote Link to post
Dan McDonough 560
The reason lurchers are not more popular here in the US is that most folks don't have to sneek to do much of anything. There seems to always be something to run leagally and when nothing else is on there's always coyotes. No season, no limit in most places... Quote Link to post

Dan McDonough 560
They aren't going to ban guns. I'll tell you what though, if we could take womens right to vote back, we'd have this thing licked. You guys should try that over there. That's where most of this started. If they would stop ignoring the facts about gun control, they would put armed guards in every school. WWIII is just around the corner so I think things are going to get weird over here. 1 Quote Link to post
bluecollar 104
Dan E. Red dog and Boone are vary different dogs, the only real thing they have in common is a ton of grit and will run the brush.. Red is way smart but he has done his job a lot, Boone is strong and faster than he looks, I am going to try to breed him to a daughter of stitch if my buddy will let me.. Quote Link to post

If you have a daughter of Stitch available then you should definately breed that male dog to her. I have the littermate to your dog in the kennel with a daughter of Stitch right now so hopefully she will come in heat someday and he will get it done. Quote Link to post
UphillDoc 278
lurcher1-Not all the folks that run coyotes from a truck do it the same...a coyote can be run as much or as little as the driver decides, and the dogs can be sent from as close or as far as the driver decides. Some depends on the terrain, some depends on the reason the coyote is being hunted, but most depends on the amount of faith the driver has in the dogs! Take care. 2 Quote Link to post

Lurcher-I've run sight hounds all over the States , on foot, horse back and by truck. When hunting coyotes in the Western part of United States most is done by truck. We dont have the easy farm ground thats chopped up mile X mile with roads so you can get around cover a section. I hunt places out here that your off road for 5,10 miles with no roads. The only way you can hunt is with a truck or horse. One of my friends out here added his repair bills on his truck in 2010-2011 it was close to 6163.71 pounds, sold the skins at the fur sale at the end of the year and it barely covered 1/10 of the repairs. I can see how some look at the videos of HH's truck as "non" sporting but I'll bet money they wouldn't after being here and hunting with us. I have plenty of stories ,vids and pics of being out run, out fought and tricked I just dont post them lol. When you have to reach down in your pocket and pay to have a motor mount, shock or radiator replaced it gets expensive never mind the fuel. We just wised up built a better truck for the desert and opened up lands we could never hunt. I hope this clears some things up. -Stunt. click the link: Edited December 18, 2012 by STUNTMAN 1 Quote Link to post

Dan McDonough 560
They'd be doing it if they could...not that I don't appreciate what it takes to make a real old time lurcher. If I were poor and had to live by my whits, I would start right from a pup and have at the old school way. If I can get my stag bred I might do it that way anyhow. For now I'm just a man with a stag, a whippet and some ideas. Quote Link to post

Hope you catch plenty more and your truck keeps putting the miles in....... Quote Link to post
