Jagd X Lurcher ?

Recommended Posts

I'm throwing this out there again in hopes that one day I'll find someone that has done this cross. I'm looking for some pictures or a contact that has crossed a Jagdterrier onto a whippet, gh, dh or some other sighthound breed. I can't believe that no one has ever done it but this is the third time I've put up this request. If that's the case...I guess I'll be the first. I sure would like to see it before I do it though.

This sort of thing always confuses the hell out of me.   Beddy cross is accepted but any other terrier cross is laughable?   On paper, knowing nothing but what I have read, it sounds like it might

Ya I know this dog here had a shit ton of whippet in him. Man I cant spell for shit in the mornings. Fixed.

I guess what I was sayin up above was go big or dont go at all. As far as greyhounds go I wouldnt piss on a track grey if it were on fire. They are useless for breeding options unless you are gonna

Im not sure why anyone would want this cross, is there any decent jagd blood in the UK, and if there was would they want to put what should a be a digging dog over a whippet? May i ask why you want such a cross, a dog that should be used primarily as an earthdog crossed with a whippet has all the hallmarks of a yapper, not ideal for a runningdog............

Would it be any different from any other whirrier type. There's already a few lakie cross whippets, and border cross whipps ,, isn't the jagd ,, similar to a lakie ?

Probably not Tomo, but i'd rather own a cat :D

Lol......pussy

I always thought that the jagd terrier was the germans make of the perfect all round hunting terrier? bred to work under a gun in all circumstances and hunt up like mad. I would imagine a jagd terrier X running dog would be a handy cross over here

My guess is Dan wont be using it as a running dog lurcher on the lamp, but more as an all arounder (varmit killer) in the brush, similar to his curs. Being vocal wont be a bad thing for him, it may even be a good thing. I think he wants a bigger, faster Jagd rather than a smaller, quieter lurcher.

Take care.
