One of my fave things when I was a kid was having rhubarb fights  there used to be a big patch of it growing in the school garden, we used to cut the stalks and chase each other around and beat the crap out of each other with them til we were all covered in red gunge or blood or both  the game was to see who was the last to go home crying  I leathered this girl called Helen who was annoying me and she went off and got her big sister who was a 6ft tall punk lesbian, she lifted me right off the ground by my hair and slapped me around for hitting her wee sister - oh those were the days :clapper: All my wee pals ran off and left me :bye: I went home crying to my mum and she just laughed and said serves you right :tongue2::boxing:

Another one I remember is climbing these fecking great Haystacks about 20ft high around the farmland! one particular day the Farmer and some workers came Hammering across the fields after us so we all legged it into a Maze field which was huge! it was a bit scarey as a kid and I lost my bearings as the maze was so high you could'nt see over the top! all I could hear was shouting and people running by as I crouched shitting myself, it went on for what seemed like hours until I could see the glow of street lights in the distance, so I headed for them and escaped to the main road and home! incredibly we all got away and pissed ourselves the next day , I look back at that with a real grin and wish I could do it all over again :D ......

God the things we got up to when we were kids. :whistling: Used to post my dads fishing maggots through next doors letter box, even better when they'd turned into big fat juicy blue bottles. Next door but one used to hang her crisp white sheets on the line so we'd dice them with ripe blackberries.

Jump into moving coal trucks off the train bridge (it's a wonder i'm still here).

God the list is absolutely endless  Wished i could get a time machine & go back, i loved my childhood

I hear an old funny trick was to put a pile of dog sh*t on someone's front step then cover it with newspaper......next you would set it afire, knock like hell on the door and hide..... ...... i'm sure you can all imagine some neighbour you didn't like stamping like hell in his slippers to put the fire out.

Used to do that too nikey :clapper: Also used to love knock a door run, hedge hopping and cat crawling. Used to have a grifter XL and an Ironhorse bmx but always wanted a Mongoose..........

i used to love ambushing the conducters with snow balls on the old open backed buses as they hung on to the back rail trying to look smart till a snow ball clatted them at the side of their head. oh and ambushing pakis that got off the bus to work in the local mill... good laughs by all sides as some of them hadnt seen snow im sure and would hurl snow balls back no one getting hurt just good fun.today they would be on the mobiles getting a load of knife wealding nutters up.
