Sambo-H has it right mate. what the main thing is is containment. stop them getting out. It doesnt matter how you start it will end up with more than one dog going for a single rat and while they are busy with that another three will bolt. that wont matter if they cant get out,but you will be amazed how they do get out. Once when we did some rearing sheds on a pheasant farm we just put wire around each one then two of us got inside the fence with six terriers and lifted up the shed using fence posts as levers. has soon as the shed was 6" off the ground in they went and slaughtered. We then had to prop the shed up and dig a few before moving onto the next.It was a blood bath after 20 sheds were complete but we came back in a month and did it all over again so you wont get the lot but do what you can and you will get invited back. When the number is reduced just take a few dogs and let them mark and you open up the ground as they mark. You can have the best hunts like this and see a dog use its nose and intelligence. ATB with it anyway..hope you have a good day.
