marshman 7,757
Unfortunately it's human nature for people to let each other down no mater whether it's going out with the dogs or even more important stuff! Just when I think I've got a handle on who the users are in life another one will let you down. I try not to be bitter about it and blame myself for being fool enough to let someone mug me of and say it won't happen again , but then of course it happens again lol it makes me appreciate the few real mates I have, that have got your back no matter what . The ones that will go that extra bit without you having to ask !!!

jackinbox99 41
You always get people like this. Im one of these people who bend over backwards to help people out and I think sometimes people take advantage of that. I *had* a mate once who was always on the phone to me about his computers, so id go around and fix them - never charged him, id service his car, I helped him move house twice, I helped his parents move house, he called me up once broken down in middle of nowhere and I went & got him. I gave him my old hifi system for free & my old computer for free. I remember going to Leeds once and picking up a truck which I drove all the way back for him. He needed someone to help him with some work for a few weeks, so I dropped everything and helped him out. He`d need a lift with something so he`d give me a bell and id pop over straight away and help him. He lost his job one year and I paid him £100 a day in cash to do some work for me for 3 months to help him out. I have lost count of the amount of stuff i did for him. I never asked for anything back. Then one day I needed someone to give me a hand with boarding my loft out. It would literally only take a couple of hours - it was more needing a hand getting the wood up my loft than anything else - its easier with 2 people than 1. So I ask him if he can give me a hand and he says yes but he`d have to charge me. WTF!!!! I literally couldnt believe it. I thought he was having a laugh, but he was serious. So, I told him to forget about it and I havent spoke to him since. Good riddance to him.

Hob&Jill 258
Makes me laugh with facebook etc, Hundreds and hundreds of so called 'friends'. I've plenty of people I'm friendly with but in reality I could count my true mates with half a hand.
