earth-thrower 493
Anyone know who was giving out these population estimates, what was it again,33 to 40 million ? im certainly not fully convinced of that. ( wouldnt be one bit surprised if it was the " experts " from the molecatcher register, banding these figures about ) ha-ha. Quote Link to post

davedavedave 69
Yes agreed mate money is tight but we can also barter our mole catching skills for other things other than money sometimes. For instance i have done some mole cacthing for a farmer who I knew would not pay but instead secured the shooting over 100 acres of his land so he is happy and so am I. Quote Link to post
moley 115
might have to change back to being a mowdycatcher it always makes me smile to think of the poor hard up farmers , barely able to put fuel in their new landrovers Quote Link to post

davedavedave 69
Was it worth the money? Quote Link to post
Dr mole 15
Was it worth the money? I believe I've only had one job from the Guild in nearly four years. In terms of cash returns probably not. I do use the logo on my website and wether that makes any difference or not who knows? Quote Link to post
Le Braconnier 49
I'm thinking of registering as an auto-entrepreneur, i.e. self-employed next year simply because it goves myself and my wife free health cover, saving us around 3,000 euro per year for the three years that we won't be covered by the state scheme. It doesn't matter whether you earn a million or a few euros, the health insurance comes with the registration. So, I've been doing a few freebies to get established and get my name known in the area. Last week I did a garden job for a mate and next week I've got a camp site and another garden job planned, plus a horse sanctuary some time next month. Been out today on another local garden job and after setting my first two traps I went over to another run to set some more. On walking back my spaniel 'marked' one of the first two traps I'd set. Sure enough, barely twenty minutes after setting it, we had the culprit trapped. Fortunately the lady of the house is a gobby sod with loads of connections so I expect news of my prowess (luck) will be spread far and wide in the Charente. Free advertising! Quote Link to post
