Me old mate ruger

Recommended Posts

My 7 month old gwp , has really started to show his instinct , took the old .22 for a bunny whacking session up the father in laws place on the weekend , along with my 2 year old bloodhound bitch to stretch her legs now the deer hound Hunting season is finished , wasn't long before I had 6 or 7 bunnies down and the pup was happy sniffing em out and trying to chase the od young en , I had neglected to see how milly was doing sniffing at the bottom of the gully when dark me she lit up on a longer tailed version and it was on , the young pup dashed off into the ferns a stopped on a dime as the prey was heading straight up the gully at us , I could hear the bloodhound crashing up the gully and getting the odd glimps of the long tailed bugger as it navigated the gully heading for the flats at the top , I decided to let them carry on and sat watching the pup who wouldn't move a inch , until 5 meters from him out popped the long tail and up he got eyes fixed , it obviously saw him and turned straight back round and got 30 meters and came head on with the bloodhound who thought a hug would be in order , now I was crapping myself , couldn't be doing with any injuries today I thought and took off after her , the crashing and noise of the bloody was awesome , my heart was pounding trying to get my old bones down the gully to get her back but by time I caught up with her I found my gwp sitting on top of the long tail with the bloody firmly fixed in position

Not exactly the morning I planned but great to see both dogs working well at such a young age and doing what they do

Cheers AS
