Countryplinker 4
Took Blu out with me ferrets today , started on a hedgerow which had 4-5 burrows either side , netted up put 3 ferrets down & waited , Blu pawed one of the purse nets a couple of times causing me to re-set it but after bein told to leave he settled & was walkin & runnin up & down hedgerow with interest , a rabbit bolted from a missed burrow right in middle of hedgerow , Blu gave chase but was already a lost cause , after several whistles & 5 mins Blu came runnin back , then heard squeals from other side of hedgerow when i got to net rabbit had back-netted & was quickly dispatched , i then moved over to a warren amongst trees , brambles & dyin back ferns , netted up approx 10 burrows , Blu took interest in the ferrets but didn't try to harm them , He was alot calmer by this time & walked around nets lookin down burrows got 1 more rabbit in purse net before packing up , well pleased with Blu on his 1st trip out with the ferrets , He was well behaved & looked just like his mother as he trotted up & down Happy Days. bullmastiff 615
Nice going. Finding Tess is starting to settle down a bit more at the start of the day ferreting. The first several times out are certainly a steep learning curve for them! Quote Link to post
