Its clearly not my night

Recommended Posts

It's been a while since I had my dog out. First the wet weather and then the frost, its made it very difficult to get the dog out working. I'm sure many can relate.

Anyway the rain seems to of backed off a bit and it was a scortcher at 5 degrees. So I thought I would head down my permission and hopefully get some early runs before it got colder and ground froze.

Got everything ready and off I went. I pulled up to the gate where I park up and start off and saw about 8 rabbits bolting across the lane. It looked promissing. Got the wellies on and dog on slip and headed in the first field. Switched the beam on and...... Nothing... Then. Little glow. f*****g battery was dead!!!!! It had a good charge a couple of days ago so I'm swearing and kicking myself. Must of imagined I put it on... Or the battery is knackered.

I went to the boot to grab my Cree light thinking I could at least have a little go at it after coming all that way. It's not in the car! Really pissed off now so get in the car and drive home.

I got in and through my coat on the table and heard *clunk* looked in my pocket and its the bloody Cree torch. I had it all along.

Beer time I think and will try again tomorrow.

Har Har, could of done with some light a bit earlier than now

And the lamp was on charge before anything else! Better be me going crazy and not the battery... Even though a battery can be replaced and my mind can't... it's before Christmas so every penny counts :tongue2:

I bet my face was a picture when I flicked that beam on. I guess all you can do is laugh.
