Elliott 436
Weather looks promising tomorrow so I think I'll have a nip out to the squirrel feeder early doors and see if I can nab one with the HW77K. Last outing with the HW100 drew a blank. I think mainly because when I arrived the feeder had fallen on the floor and was empty. Lets hope tomorrow is more successful. I'll top up the feeder in the morning and let you know how I get on.. Edited to say: Thats if I sleep well enough after worrying about Kate Middleton's morning sickness (zzzz...who gives a shit?! ) Edited December 4, 2012 by Elliott 2 Quote Link to post

Elliott 436
Well just got back in and didn't manage to bag anything. The problem with golf courses are that you've to be off as soon as the first golfers arrive. I arrived at 7.30am and the golfers came on at 8.15am! Never mind, this little rascal kept me entertained whilst I was in the hide and made the trip worthwhile. Those of you who enjoy the whole experience of being out and around nature will understand what I mean. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_shrew 3 Quote Link to post
AR177 588
You mean you dont want to know everytime she throws up for the next 9 months???? Its amazing what makes top news stories these days ATB Adam I have contemplated trying to get permission at the golf course outside of work... but the bloody golfers are there even in the dark!! so i dont think there would be any time for shooting 1 Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Brilliant Elliott I don't mind so much not getting anything when you get to see so much of nature and to watch the world go by. 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Hi Phil. The way the rabbit population on my permission has been flattened by mixy, a lot of my hunts this year have been largely nature watching with a rifle. Still, that has produced some wonderful sunrise dawns and sunsets and my favourite mood of all, the swirl of the lavender-grey mists in the late winter afternoons as the light fades around the purple forests of bare, spidery trees in the gloom, the chance of a shot at a Crow or Magpie and the loamy smell of the ploughed earth and the woodland's leafy floor. I really love to be out in the countryside on such haunted days. Even if there's nothing about to take a pot at, I can almost sense the centuries that have passed my forests, streams and fields. Lovely! Best wishes to all here. Simon. 1 Quote Link to post
