Matt3699 142
It looks like I could be taking a random trip to Ireland this weekend to visit a friend and get some good hunting in. I would be taking my 3/4 Saluki bitch with me to see if she's got what it takes. Only trouble is... She has no Passport or microchip yet. She's all fully up to date with her jabs. A google search tells me this isn't a problem. But I just want to confirm this with anyone that has done it? I don't want to get to the boat and get turned away. Will she be ok to travel in the back of the motor ( Large Estate) Also, does anyone have recommendations of what ferry to take... the quickest and cheapest etc... I know I could just phone them up and ask... But i'm just talking about it with my mate now and don't want to get too excited until I know I can take the dog without any problems. Quote Link to post

Matt3699 142
Nice one. Thank you for making my night But I know the ferries are looking about £300 return at the moment! Will be worth it to see if my Bitch makes the grade though. I'm going to be popping back and forth during the seasons in the future... Shame it costs a small fortune though! Quote Link to post
huntmark 18
There a kennels on most ferries if you wish to use them and there's a viewing screen on deck so you can see them. I would suggest you bring a padlock as the room is locked but will give you peace of mind if you choose to use them 1 Quote Link to post

Could a English man get an invite for a days sport if he payed a few quid towards the club ?? Pm if folk prefer.. Hope you have a good trip fella.. Quote Link to post

Giro 2,648
Would just need landowners consent?? Or do you not need permission in Ireland Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,294
I went over two years ago, with a few others off here; Hollyhead-Dublin. I couldn't believe that no one looked in my motor, either going out or coming back !! I had two lurchers with me and no one was interested, just waived our passports out the window and drove straight thru' ! Left the dogs in the motor on the ferry, and they run huge blowers to remove the carbon monoxide, so the dogs are ok. Cheers. Quote Link to post
