Gaz_1989 9,539
A mate of mine has got a bull cross that has grafted for a good 5/6 seasons now. The dog loves crashing through fences and hedges after rabbits and quite often comes off marked up. He is heavily scarred all over his face. He doesnt walk the dog in the daytime any more because people give him funny looks and ASSUME that he has been doing something illegal, which obviously he has not. He asked me the other day how he could take the dog to the vet if ever it needed treatment, operation etc, which fortunately it hasnt done to date. He is concerned the vets could report him for something he hasnt done. After all, he has only every worked rabbits legally on permission. There must be other lads in this situation, what do you do? Can and do vets make such aquisations? Do you go to a vet you know very well? It just got me thinking. My bitch has only grafted properly (with me anyway) for back end of last season and the first couple of months of this and she has already picked up numerous injuries from barbed wire, fences, hedges, etc, all resulting in scars on her head, face, legs, chest. I imagine in a few seasons she will look like shes lost a fight with a food processor Cheers, Gaz Quote Link to post

graham4877 1,181
you can work your dog legally on fox anyway, ie you take it with you when you good shooting, just incase you only wound a fox , it's there in black and white in hunting act.. plus you can always hop on ferries over water to run them! 1 Quote Link to post
