This Friday and Sunday SACS are doing two one day snaring courses in South Lanarkshire there are a couple of places left each day you get the Certificate and your official I.D. number on the day if you bring a passport size photograph. Phone 01698 885206. Elspeth will give you details.

I know it's for the greater good & think it can only benifit fieldsports by everyone going on it, but the one I went on a few years ago (not with sacs) was really poor, there was 30 odd full time keepers from the area and you would have thought we hadnt ever set a snare between us the way they went on..

Is it now compulsory to get one?? When I did mine they were talking about it being on the horizon if I remember right??

The course is £40 plus I've been informed the police provide the I.D. number and that costs another £20 and yes as of next year you will need this to set any snare anywhere in Scotland

Don't think that can police it properly but if someone finds the wrong species in it with yore tag number you are fooked.

You would of thought instead of running to hold snaring courses the organizations would of fought to stop it

They did fight to stop it. Have you any any Idea of the type of budgets the opponents of hunting work with Peta/ WWF/ PAL hvae people like Brian May, Kim Bassinger etc giving them thousands most of the guys on here wo'nt even join a club. the thing is every time they find a snare without a tag it gives them more ammo to use against us.

The best thing to do in situations like this where ridiculous laws are imposed for no good reason is: simply ignore them, and if everyone followed suit what could "they" do?

 

Every f****r moans about paying the tv license or road tax, if EVERYONE stopped paying it, the authorities would have no choice but to bend over and take it up the arse.

The one, the guy that did ours knew what he was talking about but having said that it ain't rocket science, but iv my bit of paper saying I can set a snare in a empty grass field, so im happy, lol,
