Deker 3,478
I have been waiting on my .223 for 3 months now and im not a happy bunny whats the average waiting time normaly ? AND YES I HAVE CALLED THEM 30+ TIMES they just say its still in the que. Is this an original grant or a variation? Variation could take 3 months without much trouble, Grant could take a year! Calling them 30+ times in 3 months is daft, that is every 3 days from the time you sent it in, allowing 6 weeks before you chased (not an unreasonable time), that means you have called them every other day. Chill out! Edit Just noticed NI, I'm not so familiar with the process there, so the comments above may not be entirely relevant! Edited December 2, 2012 by Deker Quote Link to post

Edit Just noticed NI, I'm not so familiar with the process there, so the comments above may not be entirely relevant! i have been told by my firearms officer that the office it go's to there is 6 people who deal with shotgun rimfire applications and 3 people who deal with center fires, most of my friends who have just applied for there shotguns and rimfires have got them in a month and other that have applied for center fires have got them under two months. mine was sent a week before my friends and he got it back over a month ago. this is wy im pi55ed Quote Link to post

GEOFF.223 83
Its random as feck mate, I got a variation back in 5 days, Ive heard people waiting 6 months or more. Are you north or south antrim mate. Im south and the woman who deals with me is spot on im in larne mate. my original application took 9 months all my friends who have got just put in there first grant are getting them back with in 2 to 4 weeks. they should have some kind of guide lines when your applying for a variation in how long it should take at the most. if someone told me (a official person) that my license would take 9 months then thats ok but [bANNED TEXT] you know jimmy got his in 2 weeks John got his in 6 months etc etc there is no determining how long it will take what so ever. Yokel Matt 918
Nearly 3 months and still waiting for my 1 for 1 variation - Not acceptable... no other service, other than our civil service, could possibly be so inefficient. I believe there have been cuts in licensing department of my local area but the delay is still taking the piss. Almost as if someone is trying to make a point. What they don't seem to realise is this knocks onto gunshops and other related businesses, tying up stock only held on deposit etc. Its all bollocks and i'm properly pissed about it.
