Guest taz
had a strange day mon went out with some mates checking earths found nothing to ground so ran terriers down a old railway track . shot a few rabs on way next thing sees a fox walking towards me stood still and so did fox had a shot at him and away he went followed by my young bedlington bich . shouted bich back as we were near a main road then heard a bump looked over wall and theres fox laid on road tied dogs up went to pick him up and he had gone? looked over road and there he is laid as if dead in field over road droped dogs in field and you guessed it up and away he went with dogs on his tail things were getting a bit monty python as we were now A not on our land andB right on road side.. anyway dogs went through a hedge and did not come out and when we got there beddy had it . so that was one very unlucky fox shot ran over and the rest. swanseajack 227
After having a bit of a downer with Jack Failing miserably and Milly having an unplanned litter of pups... my luck had to change... Took Milly out for the first time proper since before Christmas.. she's not quite fit at the moment but the only way to get em fit is work... not long after setting off we had a mark... didn't look that big a place so we collared up Milly and entered her.. pretty much straight away she was on.. and mixing it with her quarry.. got a mark of 3ft a lil way up the bank from where she entered... give her some time and the lads started to dig... I had a listen at the entrance and could hear thing were hotting up.. I told the lads to dig for wales or stop because it sounded like she was drawing it out... checked again and she was closer to me, within mins she was at the entrance drawing the fox out like a cork from a bottle.. a quick clean headshot to finish the job... Textbook... These gamebirds have one less to worry about... bout time things looked up!! Quote Link to post

Guest knocavoeboy
this is one of the best threads ive seen. id like a bedlington some day thats for sure, though it would not suit my style of terrain as most diggin is in tight rabbit burrows. will have maybe one to breed a few wee lurchers with myself Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
Hi Jack, I've never seen a Bedlington working, just wondered as a breed what sort of digging temperament they have? Are they bayers, mix it or very hard? I know all breeds have dogs with different temperaments but just wondered. Quote Link to post

Taz good to hear the 'Max' dog is doing the business as usual, you'll have to learn how to put pics up mate! Milly's due in Season June, might have another chat with you later in the year... Here's Milly with her Dam, after another successful dig.. Simonman, back in this thread I have explained what they work like and what they have been like in the past, Milly at the moment is right up and at em.. not giving an inch or just trying to kill and draw her quarry.. it's only her first season proper.. so she might mature into a more sensible bitch... Nan the bitch on the left is more a bayer than a mixer... Quote Link to post
