swanseajack 227
morton lad, i do believe one is talking out of ones arse!! To many people with so called Working Beddys, the only work they are capable of is a bit of rabbiting and ratting, pups are then advertised out of working parents, that would,nt stand the test of a real trial, ill just talk from my derriere and listen to the usual drivel from the same sources with the same bred shite and the usual cronies and hangers on.Thankfully there are a few out there with the genuine stuff,do your homework or take up ratting and rabbiting. So what category are yours in then ?? Let's have a look at them !! and I agree with you Who are the few though ?? be good to know ! I don,t post pictures, ever, ive just got rid of a 14 month old dog to a pet home because he was pig ignorant and was,nt going to make the grade,he was possibly a better worker than % of the stuff about now.I could mention a few with real Beddy,s,but thats not my place, ive 2 youngsters here now 4 month old showing real drive and promise, ive a 2 month old pup heavily related to them,if they fail to make the grade they will find pet homes or go in a hole, unlike most who would peddle pups out of them, ive an old bitch that as given me 7 seasons work, all my pups are out of her or her grandkids,im not saying they are the best out there but they will provide me with working terriers for a few more years and that to me is all that i ask for. 4 month old with real drive 14 month old " better than %" I don't post pictures ever !! Why not, be good to see your dogs If your that keen on seeing my mutts then ill invite you to come along and see them in the flesh and in the field,i only ask that you bring along a working Beddy of your own,now i cannot be more obliging than that. Funny that!! perhaps you might not have noticed by my lack of posts on here that I don't happen to have a bedlington atm!! Looked for 5 years for a suitable stud dog for a bitch and had not one offer!! Says it all really !! Quote Link to post

I looked for 2 years for a suitable dog, went out with a couple to see them work,i walked away,i should have used a decent Lakey and crossed them back, but i really wanted a Beddy,i eventually found a dog,the resulting pups were hit and miss,i then found the WBF,there seems to be some useful dogs doing the job in different kennels,i was generously offered a free line from a couple of lads on there,i wish id come across the offer a few years earlier but with time running out because of the bitch,s age ive taken a couple of risky chance matings, time will tell if the descision bears fruit but early signs are promising. twotone 6
Went out today over to the permission with Floyd and his apprentice Jewels. Dogs out the box check all the gear and head off to the first set of holes, the dogs have a decent look about and decide they are not holding so off round the hill. The dogs are covering a fair bit of ground as we get round the hill to where I know there is a hole. The dogs stop and appear to be checking something out but as I am down hill a bit (all looks the same in the snow) I head back up. Floyd has the collar on so in he enters while I hold Jewels away. A couple of minutes pass then we get the baying, game on. Spike in the ground and tether Jewels out of harms way but close enough to let her see and hear whats going on. Load the 12g safety on, out with the locator and lets see where we are. The box is showing between 1.5 and 1.2 which is under 2ft in old money result. Give the dog a bit of time to settle and re check, the same so spade in the ground. Its quite easy going given the temp and soon open bang on to Floyd. A look shows he is holding charlie by the jaw bone, obviously has learned that's the end that does the damage. I open wider to give access to charlie and 1 barrel does the job. I lift out the dispatched foe by the legs with him still attached and let him have his spoils. While he is reliving his exploits I back fill and job done. Quote Link to post
