BazB 37
buy yourself a book mate, you can get them off ebay or amazon they'll tell you everything you need to know. but veg and fruit are off the menu, im also pretty sure ferret are lactose intolerent so no milk either. basically meat or complete ferret food I,m finding it quite difficult to find a straight answer as to what other alternatives there are to rabbits hen you run out of rabbit so far I have used, chicken, banana, bit of watered down milk and bread in the summer a bit of melon. Would love to hear of your alternatives. Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
If i cant get to shops catfood, tinned or raw fish or poached/boiled/scrambled eggs are on the menu for my stinkers.. Quote Link to post
joe14 98
Is this a piss take? Ferrets cant digest fruit, and theyre lactose intolerant (they cant digest the sugar found in normal milk) By feeding foods you have mentioned you are damaging your ferrets digestive system. I give mine raw chicken wings, rabbit, pheasant, mince, livers, eggs, lactofree milk. Aswell as their dry food. Surley folks can afford a bag of dry food or a box of wings. It just makes me wonder lol, i have about 20kg of dry in the garage and one tray in the freezer full of raw meat. You will probs notice when feeding the bread and milk etc they have diahrea which realy their not getting any goodness from the food as its just going streight through them, your lucky one of them hasnt had a blockage with the fruit. heritage 202
Just to add ...., you will also notice that when a ferret is fed correctly there is generally less mess and there water consumption drops......Atb Quote Link to post
