Madcowz 0
Looking for guidance on what size to make a nesting box for the court. Looking at having 2-3 ferts in there so thought 12" by 12" by 8" high with a lift off lid would suffice. But, would appreciate your opinions/advice/experience please. thanks, /Mad Quote Link to post

Garn 0
A politicans answer for you. The box needs to be small enough to stay warm in the colder months, but be big enough to be cool in the summer months and long enough to allow the ferrets to stretch out when they want to in the comfort of the box. Thus, the size depends on the building materials to be used and their thermal properties, though when building new cubs, I always allow for enough room for the ferrets to stretch out in the nest box and enough room width wise to allow the intended number of ferrets to ball up together without touching the sides of the box. 12"x12"x8" I'd say would be fine, though on the tight side. 24"x12"x12" I reckon would be more suitable for 2/3 ferrets Quote Link to post
