Yeah it put a lump in my throat and Laura was in tears listening to it.

 

Ive been there myself and know what these lads and lasses are going through at this time of the year when away serving our country in lands far far away.

 

Makes me so proud of them all.

 

Bless them all and may the Lord watch over them and their families.

Its not about being softies ,some these lads have been there and don it, helping to keep you, me and the country safe. Let all of our thoughts be with them not just over the Christmas period but at all times

I'd still go back, join up and go through whatever comes, if I was a young man again. I served with some of the best Regt. Gunners and Officers in the RAF and some of the finest lads from the Army and the Royal Marines. Some we lost to enemy action but, that's what happens when you 'go on one'. It was a privilidge to experience soldiering with such men. I'll never forget them as long as I'll live. Never!

My intention was not to offend any one gents, only to try and inject humour into a sombre post. I too have served and lost comrades in combat, (2 para 1979 -1982).
