Has all this rain affected the rabbit population this year???

Everywhere i have been this year the rabbits are not as visible like they should be. I'm not seeing none on the banks an just the odd one or two in the sets I just can't under stand it is it the amount of buzzards about or this years bad weather??

I have not long since had a conversation with a local farmer, and he recons the rabbits are suffering like the sheep with liver fluke,they are saying its particularly bad this year because of the high water table,bringing the fluke worms up,I dont know if this is right so would hope someone on here will cast some light on it,

My farmer reckons its either mixy or the rain, its nothing to do with all the rabbits I have shot and ferreted..............................

its bad here too, very low numbers cant get permission anywhere either, cheesed off putting diesel in that car only to be let down

iv been to a few places this year where last year you could lamp 20 rabbits on one field now you lucky to see 10 on the farm

Same up this way, we thought we were just being unlucky until last week we had a perfect night and fields to go at that normally produce 20's and we didn't see 10 so no chance of getting anywhere near 20.

Same on my permissions, get a few ferreting during the day - 8-12, but none seem to be about when out lamping on a night with the rifle. Weird season upto now and definately has something to do with the weather im sure.

Seems to me its like anywhere, one place that held loads one year hasnt this year! But there are still pockets that hold good numbers. Havent seen 1 mixi rabbit this year and I'm having a better season this year, if the dog stopped wrecking her pads our season would be even better!
