The mag has shafted us yes, but I'm not going to knock the writers that are standing by us.

I think many of you on the forum will know my name from days long gone and from the articles and books I write today about hunting. I've had a few queries in the past as to why I no longer contributed to this forum .. and invitations to return. Always tempting, as I live to hunt. Yet the forum, too often, drifts away from the subject of hunting and deteriorates into the sort of pathetic, personalised and meaningless attack I've just read here. What purpose does this serve? Aren't we all meant to be defending a common cause here? Hunting? Christ knows there are few enough magazines on the shelf that still serve our purpose and defend our way of life? Even if you choose to attack the magazine because it has to (legally) toe the line in reporting content and adherance to the Hunting Act, why personally attack the magazines staff? Easy target? You guys are really big, hard hunters aren't you? Hidden behind secret names on a discrete forum. Wow. I'm impressed. Can I ask the mods to get this topic back on track please? Do your job, you have rules. I see them being flouted here and no action taken. Would you let someone talk about your wife, girlfriend in this manner .. which has nothing to with hunting? Come on, guys? If I was a mod, I would be demanding an apology here or an eviction.

I suspect that the Mods will take the easy option and ban me. We'll see.

Now .. anyone want an informed and sensible debate? Be quick, cos' I'm normally out hunting, not stuck to a PC talking about it.

You ask "aren't we all meant to be defending a common purpose" ? Well, yes we are, and shouldn't the CMW be included in the "WE" ?? You'd think so, but when they have an article by Poacher Watch, with a picture of a Lurcher and a statement like "Poachers are violent criminals", most people wil then link Lurchers with violent criminals !!! Hardly "defending a common purpose" is it. I think CMW simply got it wrong on this, and no amount of sycophants defending it will make my change my mind.

I have already stated why i will never buy the magazine again...........no name calling of any staff or degrading anyone (i'll leave that to the cmw describing poachers ), the cmw staff were not thinking of defending our way of life when they wanted a good hunting site shut down because of an entry ticket for a game fair (thats how much they thought of defending the common cause) !!!!!!!!!! I do not need to or want to belittle or intimidate anyone, not my nature, nor will i be belittled or intimidated by anyone to do with an insignificant magazine, I do not hide behind any name on a hunting site from the cmw , the staff there know my name (as there were HUGE issues with the one ticket i was allocated for the Midland game fair 2004 or 2005, must have thought they had an EASY TARGET eh?) , i was not trying to impress or be big by adding my post..........only 100% honest.

It is good that you and others do what you do and enjoy writing in the cmw, but i can assure you Mr Barnett that my life is not lacking in any way shape or form from not having a magazine in it..............it does not help me hunt or care for my dogs and therefore is of no relevance to me, and after the little episode over 1 ticket i wont have anything to do with this mag or the people who contribute to it as they dont seem to be my kind of people...............i'm used to genuine people like (in the cmw own words "violent criminals") , my choice my opinion!!

I remember the "ticket" incidence well. It caused a bit of a storm across the hunting sites and many called for a boycott of CMW. I'm sure their circulation dropped, causing them to back down. This was before social media sites such as facebook and Twitter, etc, so I think CMW should think very carefully before upsetting hunting people again.

A good few years ago I saw a cracking photo of 2 bedlingtons on the front cover of Cuntrimaids, thought blimey thats tidy. So as my missus loved 'her' little bedlington I gave them a ring and asked if I could get a copy of the original photo, they said they'd pass on my details onto the photographer.

 

Didnt think anythink more but....maybe 6 months or more later a fella phones and explains that the cuntrimaids gave him my number as I was after a copy of the photo.

He was very grateful that Id asked because he didnt get the magazine anymore and that he was told by them that all his photos were destroyed in the fire (anyone remember the antis burning down the old offices?) well as it turns out the cuntrimaids have been printing his photos and not paying him what they should have been for a good while.

 

& as it happens the bedlington in the photo was grandfather on both sides to my missus little bedlington, Maverick of something or other ! He didnt have a copy of the photo but did promise to send on some others that he thought I might like, he never did, probably to busy still chasing the cuntrimaids for back pay LOL
