jills dying

Recommended Posts

No they don't die, but imagine dipping the end of your todger in sh*t and p#ss 20 times a day you are going to end up with infections eventually, that's my opinion anyway, I have 8 Jill's and only breed from certain ones, the rest seem to come out of season on their own, kept clean obviously

Hows it going all, my names Derek i Ferret,Lamp, shoot, and fish,Joined forum today and have been reading a few posts with some of them been very informative. To the question do ferret Jill's die if not bred of brought out of season yes and no depends on the Jill.I have had one who was in season so long (cant accurately remember how long could be 2 month) that her red blood cells were all but gone she was anaemic and her organs had started to fail. From the time i noticed she was sick to the time she was put to sleep was 3 days. The weeks before she was grand eating drinking and still active. The week before she was put down i noticed her drinking a lot more and not eating much and i put it down to the heat we were having at the time. When i did realize it wasn't the heat about 3 days before she died i noticed her gums were very white looking and she was very weak unable to move to feed or drink herself,i gave her water and she couldnt get enough. That same day i went to vets with her and then i found out she was in trouble from been in season to long the vet kept her in over night and next day to do tests and treat her and when i went in early the morning of 3rd day ,he said there was no improvement at this point and he thought she was to far gone to recover and her organs were shutting down.So i said to put her down. This happened when i was only 3or4 years ferreting and had bred my own ferrets and had let Jill's go with out been mated or brought out of season before and never had any trouble with them till this happened i had heard the stories about you have to mate them of get them brought out of season via injection or vasectomised hob and because my Jill's never had trouble with it i let them alone to my loss of a great working Jill. After that i either put my good ferrets down to breed or get injections for them.So to question do ferret Jill's die if not bred of brought out of season in my case yes and no and i wont take the chance of the later answer happening ever again its not worth it.
