CHOOSING STUD DOG?????

Hello everyone , this is aimed at daytime coursing lads so advice would be appreciated

 

i have a coursing greyhound bitch she is 6 years old and her parents were both really good ,

the thing is i want to put a good saluki dog over her but im having trouble deciding on a dog , so who is the best stud dog around at the moment???

theres several good dogs about....... casper .....buddy......carson ....jack .....and a few more mate but they dont come cheap ..but you get what you pay for the question is will they use there dog over your bitch ... all the best snoop ....

if your after a saluki lurcher to put to your ghd

Your always best to choose a dog you have seen running, preferably day in day out, so you can see for yourself the strengths and weaknesses of the dog, and compare them with your bitch and see if the dog can add something to the mix that the bitch is lacking, or compliment her attributes. Its not always possible though as not many folk run pure salukis. Best of luck to you finding a good pure one, they seem to be like hens teeth.

thanks everyone , but its a saluki cross im after , i dont mind paying stud fees , i know that casper and jack is £500 , ive saw casper on tape several times and really like him, i already have a good young bitch off a proven dog hes the sire of (wolf) , dont know much about the Jack dog , i know he is off the best of blood though(joe & foxy) but not sure about any other proven stud dogs , i must say casper is no1 at the minute ,

i dont see why they wouldnt cross my bitch cos ill let em see it run , she is a lot tighter that 99% pure g/hounds and she catches most of what she runs, and is game as a lion, so all she is lacking is a bit more staying power , shes 6 year old and ive been waiting a long time now to cross this bitch, shes never ran on the track only coursed hares , same as her parents .

i was just after some more reccomendations on dogs.

Casper might be your best choice for putting over a Pure Greyhound as he is bred out of Foxy x a pure saluki called Deacon :thumbs:

she is very decent for a coursing greyhound and she aint too big either shes only 25tts a quite fine made , not too heavy

got the dog in mind (casper) he through some wicked dogs n bitches so might aswell go to the daddy n cut the rest out
