Bunny Boiler 177
Is it worth me writing up a short explanation of what people need to be doing before considering purchasing, acquiring or even thinking about owning ferrets? ALOT of posts in this section are based on people asking what they would need to do because they've never owned a ferret, but I would only really write it if it would get pinned, because then it doesn't just scroll off and die, and people who fail to use the search function would never find it. Let me know, and then I'll pull up a draft, you lot can take a butchers, add to it etc. Cheers fellas. Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,936
Been tried before, and seriously,,, it never worked,, the same questions get repeated , again, and again, constantly, every year. Sorry bud,, I asked the same thing, and it was proved correct,. I reckon a collective effort among some of the knowledgable folk on here would be worth pinning, but the other issue is differences in opinions. i.e I have kept ferrets and worked them for 24 years. and I feed dry food along with carcass Can we have folks opinions on that !! Duck ! cause 20 different opinions will fall shortly. Like I say, good idea, but hasn`t worked Quote Link to post
joe14 98
The type of folk who just go out and buy an animal before reading up i dont think will be bothered about reading up on them. Quote Link to post
Matt3699 142
It sounds like a good idea to me. I grew up lamping and coursing and never really had any experience with ferrets. I'm now in an area where ferrets would be a handy thing to work. But I have never worked them. There is a heap of information on this site alone that I am reading through.... but it would be handy to have it all in one place. ' A complete beginners guide to ferreting' Quote Link to post
The one 8,529
This site's like a shooting mag the same questions come with the season's and newby's post them but dont or wont use the search engine so it wont harm to post them again Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
It's not like THL is the only source of information out there though is it.....If someone wanted to find out what's involved in keeping ferrets they could do in 2 seconds with a google search, the fact that some of them get ferrets and only then think about what's required speaks volumes. The only way to combat that would be everyone who's selling or giving ferrets away checking the person knows what they're doing before letting them walk off with one. I certainly would if I was selling a ferret! Quote Link to post
