rws excaliber help needed

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately i loaned my mint Excalibur to a friend last weekend and he lost the mag.

Not really a problem as hes a good pal, but i might have to kill him if i cant find where to buy another!

I have phoned a few local gunsmiths who cant really give a definitive answer

Is it the same as the webley fx2000 mag? some say it is, others say the center pin hole is a different size.

Tried chambers and they dont have them.

Any help much appreciated, its my favorite rifle

Iv seen 2 crop up on ebay over the last few months. While at Arron wheelers at Brighouse a while ago I saw he had a box of various old mags give him a bell its worth a shot to see if he had one in there? Great guns by the way I have one myself good luck with your search atb Tom.

Thanks for the info Tom, dont suppose you have a contact number for arron?

I contacted fx directly about a week ago about the mag and they have just got back to me this morning.

They seem to think they will have one for me if i can sufficiently describe it for them which is pretty tricky considering i dont have the magazine in front of me.

When you get five minutes Tom would you have a quick look at yours and tell me if the knob on the magazine faces towards the shooter or away from them?

I am fairly certain it faces towards you when placed in the rifle but cant be certain

Cheers

Thanks Tom

I will give him a bell tomorrow and see if he has a spare, there seems to be very few spare mags knocking around.

Its a bit like the excaliber rifles, no one wants to part with them once they have owned one.

Thanks very much for the offer of the loan, its more than generous of you!

I have a few rifles of much greater value than the rws to take out over the week end, but for some reason i always seem to pick that one up on the way out of the door

Wont do any harm to blow the cob webs off the others

Cheers again

The mag is 7 shot (has one solid part so you know the mags run out) and it has a round inlet hole at the back that measures 6mm across and 1mm deep. At the front of the mag theres a round protrusion that measures 4 mm round and 1.5 mm deep. The protrusion on the mag faces forwards (away from me and towards the muzzle end of the gun) when loading into the side of the gun. The whole mag measures 25 mm accross. Hope that makes sense.
