Ratsmasher 36
Hello everyone couldn't find anything about it on the search, so sorry if its been done before I basically need another long net for my ferreting, 50 yards and im planning to buy 100 yards of sheet netting and put it onto my own top and bottom lines and poles, and I wasnt sure whether 4oz would be suitable or whether i should spend the extra tenner for 6oz. My main concerns are with it picking up more debris then a 6oz and the durability of the lighter netting. thanks Ratty Quote Link to post
lifelong cumbrian 1,829
I have both 6z and 4z. I was advised when i started using them to buy 4z as they are far better at catching rabbits than the 6z and very good advice it was. You get far less bounce outs and are lighter to carry. Yes you might get a lttle more rubbish in but i think it is worth the hassle. I now buy sheet netting and put my own together. I tried the 6z just through interest and my personal opinion is, while it is ok the 4z is much better. Quote Link to post
goldfinger 135
I agree 4oz does hold quarry better, but also picks up rubbish more often,It also cuts down on weight,I personally prefer to use the 4oz but 6oz does have its place,I have even used 10 oz at times in and around brambles, plenty of bagging is the key to preventing bounce offs. The one 8,552
A 4z will pickup all the crap but it just shows its doing it's job a bit of care setting it and lifting it will help , a 6z a bit better but i wouldn't go any heavier than that Quote Link to post
