jasper65 6
I look at alot of the newer model springers available on the Market these days and to be Honest there's not many that give me a buzz . The old models like the HW80's/77's, the earley BSA Range from Mercury's to Airsporters and the AirArms range still seem to stand above most springers developed in the last few years. A couple of Guns I really do like is the Air Arms Pro Sport and a mate a few years back had a Pro Elite in .177 jacked up a bit which was awsome. if you can go back past and present and you could say!! "Yep this gun had everything I wanted and more" which springer would it be? Cheers Jasper Quote Link to post

Troy 3
can't beat the bsa lightning mate Quote Link to post
tote 856
I had an Original 45 years ago with just the iron sights killed a lot of rabbits and rooks with it If I could I'd have another tomorrow. Also owned a HW97 more recently that I thought was great The only downside being the weight, too heavy for my likeing. The last springer I shot was my mates Air Arms Pro Sport in .177 very accurate Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
BSA Lightning XL. The Lightning proved the perfect rifle for me ~ and millions of others ~ and the chequering on the XL model made it a joy to behold. Quote Link to post
mrcuban 0
Had a bsa lighting and it is a great gun for the money. If you have a little more cash the HW is unbeatable. I have the HW as my only gun at the moment. Quote Link to post
spike 0
webley longbow, had a couple of them and i can't fault them.i've heard the newer, turkish asembled aren't as good as the original brummie made ones though. Agree - they're great The TX200SR is a nice gun - very heavy though. The Prosport is generally thought to be the best out the box though. Quote Link to post
zac59 0
I also think that the lightning is good. Because my HW97K is a good rifle, but it is really heavy.... it is also a little for that that I resold it Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Exactly! ... err ..... Zac () I've always preferred the thought / image of under levers myself. Thus the HW77 gave me wet dreams. Toys for boys and all that. But the simple fact is, while they may represent the very pinnacle of good, solid, German engineering? The HW range Do weigh like a f*cking BMW, don't they?! I actually wonder if BSA weren't inspired to name the 'Lightning' so because it's so Light? Quote Link to post
Guest Scuba1
Now don´t laugh you lot, but i like the GAMO that i use at the moment . Its a CFX royal in.22, an under leaver that is very much on the heavy side. very accurate though and has enough punch to knock over rabbits out to around 40m ...... well thats as far as I am willing to have a go at them with the sights that i have on it anyway. Guest The Shaman
I've had a few springers, I really liked the Webley Longbow and the HW97, though as said before the HW weigh a ton, which is great if your propped up against something or shooting over short distances, but I couldn't shoot worth a damn in the standing, unsupported position with a heavy gun.
