starting terriers

hey guys and girls just wondering at what age would you expect a terrier to start pushing cover......my pup is just over 4 months now and he has started pushing rabbits from the thick stuff.......witch surprised me as i was not expecting him to start working cover until he was at least 8 months old and as he is going to be a earth dog for foxes i wont let him nere a hole until he is 12 months or older dose that sound right......cheers revmx

they often find there own holes to drop into while out bushing, even at an early age.

my first plummer had to be dug out of a tight rabbit hole at 16 wks, lucky it was only rabbits.

i have a bitch here myself mate 14 months. all shes got so far is a couple of rags and a good few rats take your time with the pup sounds a good one atb

Take him with you every time you work an ''Earth'' & let him watch that's if you have another working terrier,he aint learning jack shitt waiting around
