Crow Hunting..

Recommended Posts

OK, so i got a new permission on account of a Crow problem (and a fox!) so im trying to get over there later this week, but wont get there until about 12pm!

Do you guys think this maybe a little late in the day?

Iv ordered some FUD decoys, so i will put these out and erect a cam net (Iv got one of the JP clear view nets).

When i first visited i only saw one Crow, but loads of woodies.. :-) but i do want to target the Crows first to please the land owner..

So, can anyone offer any advice on whether my ideas are sound or if im barking up the wrong tree?! lol..

Thanks for reading...

hi fraggle

early morning i find is best, before sun up get in to place

wait for them to come in,or call them in with a crow caller, keep still and cover all skin .they are a very clever bird,if they spot you it will be hard to shoot them

PS.

if you only seen one lst time, then i would say yes! you was barking up the wrong tree.

As Davy Say's,

Early morning unless You have a SGC Licence then i find it's best just before it gets Dark

and Smack them as they're flighting to their Roosts which i find is Superb Fun with My Benelli M2 12 gauge Semi Auto Shotgun   ;)

Has anyone actually USED the FUD Decoys?

Any good??

Work well for Pigeon shooting the pigeon fud decoys as long as You put enough of them out and forget about patterns that's a load of Crap,

When the Shottie lads i sometimes shoot with they just put them out in no particular pattern ;).

So i imagine should work with corvids especially if you can add to the pattern with dead corvids as well, just make sure Your well Camouflaged

as they'll spot You and warn their Brethren of the Danger.

I like to mix both a few woodies and a few crow decoys to one side and a full bodied one on the fence post, it works fine, as for rabbit pick some road kill up anything old pheasant owt messy and as said earlier, keep well concealed in spring they are a bit easier, but just now they have very keen eye's
