:( So sorry to hear that, RIP missy :(

My whippet bitch was, 'aparently' poisend, so the vet reckoned, she was fiting aswell.

I never did get to the bottom of it, i have just let it rest.

Hope your family are ok, hard times for a wee while.

All the best, chin up

Frank.

Nothing worse than losing a dog and your not sure of the reason i feel it for you mate.

ive had dogs poisoned on the land and its pretty instant if its strichnine a fit and its over they do froth a bit but not a lot its the set grin that gives strichnine away.

Your doing the right thing going for a look around as its the time of year some unscrupulus :censored: would salt the land for cubs.

Even if you find anything its hard to get a prosecution as the landowner will argue that anyone could be salting but it would be nice to know  .

One keeper near me got away with it for years till he forgot the hunt was coming and he poisoned one of the ladys hounds then he was ordered to stop.

The police knew what he was up to but didnt care as it was only sruffy poachers dogs :censored: .

Bad news :( May be worth getting the vets to find the cause with a post mortem? Lost a terrier bitch years ago, I was at work and my family came home to find her fitting in the kitchen, straight to the vets but she died within the hour, vet suggested meningitis but I wish I'd had a pm to make sure...........

A lady round my way had a lovely border terrier, just a pet, that died out on her walk. It turned out the dog had eaten slug pellets that the farmer had spilled on the way to spread them. As its so wet and prime slug weather, i wonder if the poor dog could also have eaten some. ??

that's an awful shock for you both: my old terrier bitch went into shock last year when she was stung by 2 bees on her lips: just keeled over and lay there rigid. thankfully she recovered but it's a horrible feeling when you don't know what caused it: like some others have said, a PM won't necessarily reveal the cause without it costing a fortune: like looking for a needle in a haystack my vet once said.

its a sad thing when a good friend goes suddenly sorry for your loss mate :(

there is a poison a certain keeper who is now dead once used to kill foxes only on this instance it killed the stalkers lab a certain mole catcher was blamed because he was using poison to kill the moles any way after a vet was called to investigate paid for by the mole catcher the results were yaltox poisoning the b*****d keeper had been leaving rabbits out for charlie :censored: highly illegal but some rotten apples will use any means to kill foxes or what ever lazy b*****ds R.I.P MISSY
