danny300 2,240
daytime danny would be a bit different at night bud fox would be alot sharper for a dog at that age but the right way to start then day time Why would a fox be harder at night??? They don't bite harder or faster do they, they run different but once its caught its the same animal whether its day or night. what i mean if its after being dug the terrier would have taken a bit of wind out of him plus if hounds have run him for a bit. at night he is a bit fresher as he would not have been under the same pressure as in during the day 1 Quote Link to post

downsouth 7,346
I would wait untill the dog was at least 18months old if it was a bit older at the start of the season all the better and if i could let it watch an adult do a few at the end of the last season great. The one thing i would never do to get it going was double it up imo its asking for disaster. Chid 6,542
thats how i entered my dog (legal here in NI) he was slipped on his own at a week or 2 before his 2nd birthday which is also the start of my hunting season sept/oct , he gave the fox some run turning it half a dozen times before striking as the fox tried to go through the hedge , being the first dog ive brought on from a pup to take fox it was all heart stopping stuff to watch and wonder if he was going to do it or not 7 Quote Link to post
