Out lamping abit ago with a red filtered lamp amd came across a green pair of eyes, any ideas what it was?

If you shine a lamp with a red filter at anything, you will get a red reflection. Shine a lamp with no filter and you will get a true colour back. Green eyes with no filter is more often than not, a cat.

I wouldnt say badger because came across alot of badgers and all shown red

I would agree mate with the people saying cat,red filter,usually gives red eyes on everything,as said lift the filter and have a look.

...and never rely on eye colour for identification either, you get some surprises sometimes!

I would say it was most likely a Badger spotter looking through night vision whilst pulling the heed off it !!

Completely agree. I once had a fox who's eyes seemed to shine back green eater than an orangey red. Had to check it several time to make sure I was aiming at the right species!
