Out on my own today..perfect.

On some new permission today.. me the dog and 3 ferts.

 

Didnt get there til 12pm and had a little look around..Dog was immediatley marking a banking full of holes between a set of paddocks and the crop fields..theres was a 20 X 100 yard set asside and it was covered in one long warren.. I was travelling with 20 purse nets and my long nets in the van..so I netted up one end and dropped my this years kit in for a rummage..she managed to bolt 2 very quickly and then went quiet. . .so I dropped another Jill in and a couple more evacuated..they were moving down the warren now so I moved the nets along as they were moving down the length of the warren..I was obviously undernetted but just wanted to let the kit have some fun. .anyway after another short wait the kit came out all blooded up so I boxed her up and waited for the other Jill..she eventually moved another bunny before showing on top..I could have stayed on the same warren but the locator was going off scale at over 16 ft everytime they went in and the ground was very very sandy..I decided to move over into the adjoining paddock and have a look around at some nice open burrows on the middle of a nice flat field..Luxury Ferreting in my book.. I went to the van got my long nets and ran a 50 yard net all the way around and dropped 2 ferts in. all to easy..4 out in no time and then a little wait for the last reluctant tenant.

Ended on 10 very steady and no stress bunnies. . . lookin forward to going back and doing it on a full day next time now i know the lay of the land.

Dog marked well..helped me with the escapees and the long nets... for once and unusually I am home and have no complaints at all.

 

Off to pick my pup up tommorow..then the fun begins.

Good feeling when it all goes right Vin, rarely do I get home and feel like all that could be done has been done. Today is one of those days for me also.
