Guest thebigdog
I would disagree that yipping is nothing to do with frustration, it may be inherited, but imo, it has everything to do with frustration............. x2 Quote Link to post

franks barn 10
have been rearing pups into running dogs for 30 years, have one now that stopped its 1st hare at 8 and a half month, single handed of course, never makes a squeak. running to early makes them yap is talking shit pal. my pals dog yaps like a hound and so did its mother, every dog when behind a hare will get frustrated at some point but that don`t make them yap. some do and some don`t, don`t tell me i`m talking shit because i don`t talk shit pal. 1 Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
Still disagree, if a dog is run on numerous bunnies sat near hedges, in woodland or is just plain old fashioned outrun it MAY start yipping in frustration. Also if a dog is run unfit and outclassed it may yip out of frustration....... Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,288
Franks Barn, don't take this the wrong way matey as we all do things different ie: entering dogs to work...why would you feel the need to run a pup of 8 1/2 month on a hare?..the point being exactly what?...how many seasons would you get out of a dog?..Not trying to nit pick fella, just i'm amazed quite frankly with your post?...would you be getting the pup upto a fair stage of fitness to run a hare at that age?..ATB Andy.
