What a knob. Despatching something is one thing, getting the ferret so you can watch a scrap is lame.

Even the best ferret would get a severe twatting at the very least, and contained i'm sure would end up dead. But i reckon an EU poley would stand a chance!

Grow up ........

Here's what will really go on, i base this only on my experience with my own ferrets having run ins with feral ferrets on just shy of a handfull of times. I know that a mink has a bit more in the locker.

A good ferret would be put to ground on an already wound up mink, a skirmish would go on below the ground resulting in the mink trying its damdest to bolt if possible, lets face it, why would it go against everything that nature has taught it to survive?

If blocked in, then the ferret curious about what was before it again would investigate again, and get beaten back, the mink would not be trying to kill it, just keep it away from itself. At any point in time, a mink would with the slightest chance would try to bolt.

This sort of cat and mouse will go on for ages with no result below the ground, with any chance of evasion, always taking priority over direct confrontation.

If blocked into a space the size of a bucket, then there will be an outcome, and that will be a ferrets future mapped out with only as long as you are prepared to block them both in for.

Nearest thing i can liken it to, is yourself on your hands and knees, trying to take out a honey badger.face on down a tube.

Like the ferret will think, feck that!

entered a ferret in a set and within a few seconds the ferret bolted out like a rabbit. The smell was awful.

That particular ferret took ages to even enter a rabbit hole again let alone graft.

I assumed it must have encountered a mink.
