fitchet 788
No that video is from over yalls way. Deer just blow my mind and that is one of the coolest displays of power I have ever seen on video. I must admit before i ran one i thought they would be "plodders". The raw power of them is unreal and they can jum for the size of them. Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
Why would you think that a deer like that would be a plodder? I have no real world experience on them but I can just look at em and know there arent many kinda deer that could run like them. Fallow look somewhat fast too by the looks but nowhere near like the reds look. Reds sorta look athletic like white tail and white tail can f****n fly so I just figured Reds could too. Ray Mears 272
the build of them makes you think they are slower in my opinion but how wrong can you get they can shift when there in there stride 1 Quote Link to post

Good run though on a good roe, regardless of the outcome Quote Link to post
Born Hunter 17,763
How can you coment on deer dogs if youve never seen one. My point exactly. If there were such a thing I'm quite sure I would have seen one by now. Facts are fox are a joke compared to real deer. I'd hardly call them little rabbits yall call Roe a dog gone deer. I'm not sure what ya getting at here dan. A US deer dog is obviously gonna be different to a UK deer dog, just as US and UK running dogs are different, and as has already been mentioned a UK deer dog comes in a few different flavours. A dog consistently grassing daytime roe with style is in my book a deer dog, or more accurately a good roe dog. A dog dropping 200lb fallow bucks single handedly is exactly that, a fallow buck dog and still a deer dog. I'm not looking for an argument over this but are you saying that either a single handed fallow buck dog isn't in your opinion a 'deer dog' or that a dog dropping fallow is bull shit? What are you calling a deer dog? Cos when dogs are grassing deer it's pretty hard to say a deer dog doesn't exist...... Quote Link to post

Guest Moscow
I think Dan is getting at, correct me if Iam wrong big fella..... just because a lurcher can knock over a few roe which most lurchers of over 22tts can doesnt qualify them of the title deer dog Fact is some real good roe bashers just lift there head at the bigger deer, mature fallow bucks etc Edited November 27, 2012 by Moscow 1 Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
Think theres a difference between a deer dog & a GOOD deer dog Quote Link to post
